Jude Isabella was the managing editor of YES Mag, Canada’s Science Magazine for Kids, and is now a journalist living in Victoria with her husband. Her writing interests include ecosystems, science, and the environment.

In this fascinating and accessible introduction to languages, Jude explores various facets of human language and offers an interesting and often humorous history of how language has evolved over time, all over the world.

After training as a traditional artist, Kathy Boake started her illustration career painting and doing collage work. When she was approached by children’s magazines to work for them on a regular basis, she was well on her way to illustrating for children. She lives in White Rock, British Columbia.
