Suki’s Kimono

Chieri Uegaki was born in Quesnel and now lives on the Sunshine Coast. Suki’s Kimono is her first book, and she has now written three, all of which have been nominated for multiple awards.

Unlike the other children on their first day of school, Suki chooses to wear the blue kimono that her grandmother gave her. Her courageous, independent spirit soon charms her classmates.

Governor-General-Award winning children’s book illustrator Stéphane Jorisch has also illustrated for magazines and created designs for Cirque de Soleil. He lives in Montreal with his girlfriend and their three children.
