Stop Thief

Heather Tekavec was born in Manitoba, Canada, but moved at a young age to British Columbia. After graduation, she taught preschool, and discovered the wonder of children’s books. In 2002, she published her first picture book, Storm is Coming! She has also written for older children and teens, and published short stories in various magazines. Heather lives with her husband, her three daughters, and a pet rabbit in Langley, BC.

Max the dog valiantly tries to help the farmer stop the thief who has been eating his crops. When Max sets off to catch the entirely wrong culprit, hilarity ensues as he continually misses the signs about who is really stealing the crops.

Pierre Pratt is an award-winning illustrator of more than fifty books for children. He has been a finalist for the Hans Christian Andersen Award, and he has won the Elizabeth-Mrazik Cleaver Award, the Mr. Christie’s Book Award, and the Governor General’s Literary Award for Illustration three times.
