Shi-shi-etko

Nicola Campbell is an Interior Salish and Metis author living in North Vancouver with her son. Her books are inspired by stories she was told by her family, elders and community.

Shi-shi-etko is about to leave her family and attend residential school. The gentle yet poignant narrative focuses on the wonderful memories that Shi-shi-etko creates and treasures with her mother, father, and grandmother in the days leading up to her departure.

Kim LaFave grew up in Vancouver and studied at the Alberta College of Art and the Illustrators Workshop in New York. He has illustrated many award-winning children’s books and now lives and paints in Robert’s Creek, BC.
