Abby's Birds

Ellen Schwartz – Born in Washington, DC, and raised in New Jersey, Ellen Schwartz now lives in Burnaby with her husband. She has two grown daughters and has written 12 books for children, including Mr. Belinsky’s Bagels, Dusty, and Abby’s Birds.

Abby’s friend is an elderly Japanese neighbour who teaches her to make beautiful origami birds. Abby has a chance to repay this kindness.

Award-winning cloth and collage artist Sima Elizabeth Shefrin lives on Gabriola Island. She has worked on Abby’s Birds, Once Upon a Bathtime, and Jewish Fairy Tale Feasts: A Literary Cookbook.
